MEET THE WOMAN BEHIND THE SCENES
"Hi I'm Vannessa Lindsey"
In 1987, I established my own nonprofit organization, which has successfully thrived until today. Along the way, I realized the importance of having a community of individuals who share similar values and goals, and who I could rely on for support and advice. As a Founder and CEO, I wanted a safe space where I could freely discuss concerns and gain insights from other nonprofit leaders.
Through trial and error, I learned the ins and outs of building and sustaining a nonprofit organization. I didn't want to represent my organization in the community without having a solid foundation of knowledge and skills. I went through the "baptism by fire" experience, which was challenging, but it helped me gain valuable experience.
I made a promise to myself that when I had the chance, I would help other nonprofit founders build their organizations while providing them with a supportive network to learn best practices, secure funding, and help those in need. As a result, I have been actively assisting, supporting, and advising aspiring and new nonprofit founders, as well as other nonprofit leaders.
